I have been out of the blog-o-sphere for a couple of days and for good reason. As you know, I've been snow bound in DC. Much to my disappointment, my flight, scheduled for Thursday was cancelled. It was important I make it back to Charleston by 4 p.m. because I volunteered my services to the VA for the Aaron Tippin's benefit concert. US Airways informed me that I probably wouldn't get out Friday either. So, a couple of friends in DC decided to drive me to Charlotte. They have family there anyway and since it is a Federal holiday weekend, it seemed like good timing.
We braved the snow and drove seven hours to Charlotte. I booked a flight to Charleston first thing Friday morning. I got the airport and the lights were out. Yup, there was no power, which meant the flights were delayed. Ha! The lights finally came on and we boarded the aircraft. As we were about to pull away from the gate, my cell phone rang. It was my contact at the VA. He informed me that Aaron Tippin was stuck in Nashville and the VA concert was cancelled for the evening. LOL!
A couple of hours later, it started snowing in Charleston! Awe heck!
